who've taken the stage with us over the years. If you've sang with us, and you're not on the list, give us
a gentle kick up the ar*e next time you see us, or click on this contact us link to give us an e-bollocking.

MARTIN McGINLEY 01/04/69-09/03/2011
We have decided to keep our obituary to Martin McGinley on this page
as a memorial but separate from all of our distinguished other guests. We will never forget Martin and I'm sure the
rest of you won't either x
As some of you may be aware by now last week we received the devastating news of the sudden passing
of our very close friend Martin McGinley.
We had the great pleasure to call Martin a friend and he provided us
with endless hours of happiness, love, laughter and music. Whether it was with his brother Mick and their pal Digger as part
of the legendary McGinley's (no 2 gigs ever the same) or as a founder member of The Donkees or even just on his own with
a guitar, Martin had a talent that was unique, endearing and surpassed only by his modesty.
His love of music and
the craic was unrivalled; often sending out enthusiastic text's to tell us that a certain song was on the radio at any
one time. Martin took such pleasure from music and the company of his many, many friends and in return we all adored him for
the pleasure he bought into our lives. His encouragement and appreciation of others music (he even called us "un-notdanceable"
once - we're still not sure if this was a compliment but we know for sure that it was meant to be) was a mark of his generosity,
quick to praise and even quicker to smile and always with a twinkle in his eyes.
Martin was simply great company.
The list of memories we have been left with is endless and there will forever be places, songs and moments that will
raise a smile - Martin dancing at Maguire’s completely oblivious to his trousers sliding down is just one of hundreds
not to mention the many wonderful, post gig hours listening to him belt out obscure classics with a guitar in his hand.
We'll miss Martin, we loved him dearly and the world is a poorer place for his passing.
Our heartfelt
condolences go out to Con and Nora, Mick, Anthony, Bridget and Dee
and also to anyone else who will miss him as much as we will.
See Ya Kid x x x x x
